  1. Roadworker Construction NQF Level 3
  2. Surveyor NQF Level 4 (Maths HG)
  3. Carpentry NQF Level 3
  4. Service Mechanics (Earthmoving) NQF Level 2
  5. Fitter & Turner NQF Level 2
  6. Boilermaker NQF Level 2
  7. Construction Supervision NQF 4

The minimum criteria for consideration for the above learnerships are:

  • Matric or Senior Certificate: good results in Mathematics and English
  • A keen interest in the civil and building construction industry
  • The ability to work out-doors in any weather condition
  • Perseverance, determination and the ability to take the initiative

EXPERIENTIAL TRAINING

Students studying at any of the Universities of Technology require 6 to 12 months’ experiential training to complete their diplomas.  The Power Group offers experiential training in the following disciplines:

    • ND BUILDING
    • ND SURVEY
    • ND CIVIL ENGINEERING

The minimum criteria for consideration for experiential training are:

    • Completed first semester and/or a pass in all subjects
    • A keen interest in the civil and building construction industry
    • The ability to work out-doors in any weather condition
    • Perseverance, determination and the ability to take the initiative

PLEASE NOTE:

The Power Group of Companies do not offer bursaries or sponsorships to first-year University of Technology students, unless they have come through the Group’s Trainee Learnership Programme. 

Bursaries are only offered to experiential learners after the experiential training period has been completed with the Group.

UNIVERSITY BURSARIES

The Power Bursary entails: 
The Power Group of Companies will pay the student a fixed monthly allowance to be used for accommodation and general expenses (such as stationery and books) and/or an amount to meet the cost of registration, tuition and examination fees.  The work-back period is one year of work; for each year sponsored by the Group.

The Power Group will consider offering bursaries to students for the following qualifications:

    1. BSc Civil Engineering
    2. BSc Quantity Surveying
    3. BSc Construction Management.

 

 

The minimum criteria for consideration for a bursary are:

    • Maths and Science Matric High Grade
    • Latest results of either Matric or the year or semester completed
    • If you are currently registered as a student at a University, proof of registration for the relevant year or semester
