New annual event Powers up Gauteng social calender What could have been an ordinary Wednesday evening in Highway Business Park, Centurion, turned into an unusual festive occasion – and an event that promises to become something of an industry-wide institution. It was the launch of the Power Group’s new offices, and their annual cocktail function.
“The launch event was very special,” says Power Developments MD, Henrie Jonck. “Our yearly function in Cape Town has become a tradition, and already we can see things moving that way in Centurion. This is the ideal get-together for industry people – not only to network, but also to renew acquaintances and catch up with former colleagues, clients and suppliers to exchange views on what’s been happening out there.”
Group Chairman, Graham Power, introduced his “Unashamedly Ethical” campaign to the local industry. This far-reaching independent initiative aims “to promote ethical, professional and values-based trading in South Africa - both in business and one’s private capacity”. Roleplayers are asked to sign a pledge form committing to conform to the values of practising sound business principles. (More info on the initiative: www.itnafrica.com) Voigt says the launch of the premises in Gauteng was demonstrable proof that the Power Group has entrenched itself firmly in Gauteng soil. “ We are here to stay and to make a difference. And we are building up a solid base of clients, consultants and suppliers.”
